Some critics have claimed that the film serves more as a $75 million public relations campaign for the Trump Administration than as a true documentary. However, it seems clear that Melania’s intention is to share her perspective and demonstrate her strength and independence.
As Sigmund Freud once said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. In this case, perhaps this is simply a film about Melania’s life and work. Notably, the documentary has also been a surprise box office success, earning approximately $8 million in ticket sales—a remarkable figure for this genre.
Among the film’s most memorable moments are Melania’s visit to a church to pray for her late mother and her contributions to President Trump’s speeches, including the suggestion to use the word “unifier.” Mr. President, you have a remarkable and hardworking wife. Honor her, cherish her, and strive to be the unifier she envisions.
