Farmers and politicians in Colonial America, such as Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe, were involved in the institution of slavery, even though some gradually sought to promote abolitionist initiatives. OCTOBER 26, 1823
“America, North and South, has a set of interests distinct from those of Europe, and peculiarly her own. She should therefore have a system of her own, separate and apart from Europe. Its object is to introduce and to establish the American System, of keeping out of our land all foreign powers, of never permitting those of Europe to intermeddle with the affairs of our Nations. It is to maintain our own principle, not to depart from it. I could honestly therefore join in declaration proposed that we aim not the acquisition of any of those possessions, that we will not stand in the way of any amicable arrangement between them and the mother country, but that we will oppose with all our means, the forcible interposition of any other power, as auxiliary, stipendiary, or under any other form or pretext and most essentially their transfer to any power by conquest, cession, or acquisition in any other way. I add the assurance of my constant and affectionate friendship and respect.”

PRESIDENT THOMAS JEFFERSON: THE FATHER OF AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY: Thomas Jefferson is widely considered the first North American archaeologist, as he conducted one of the first documented scientific excavations of a Native American burial mound in Virginia, which set a precedent for systematic archaeological practices in the United States; this is why he is often called the “Father of American Archaeology.”

“Yellow Journalism” in the ‘Golden Era’ is altering your perception—proceed with caution
Yellow journalism is a sensational and often exaggerated reporting style that surged to prominence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This approach to journalism is marked by a mix of fact and fiction, eye-catching headlines, and striking illustrations, all aimed at grabbing public attention and driving up sales. The impacts of yellow journalism on society can be profoundly harmful, as it encourages gossip, inflammatory political rhetoric, sensationalism, exaggeration, and an obsessive focus on celebrities. This form of reporting frequently involves the intentional distortion or fabrication of information, which can manipulate public opinion. The result? Exaggerated and biased narratives can sway public sentiment with far-reaching consequences.
The power of the press should inform and enlighten, not mislead. Stay aware of what you consume.

Donald Trump: The Last Movie Star of “The Golden Era”
(A Literary Parody Crafted With Intent)
I believe Donald Trump is one of the most talented actors of our time. After watching his latest movie, “From Here to Eternity 2.0,” I feel compelled to defend him against the unjust criticisms and unfair judgments of his performance. Although it’s a fact that Trump lacks discipline and formal training—having risen to fame without stepping foot in an acting school—in “From Here to Eternity 2.0,” he exudes charm, energy, and inspiration. His unconventional style captivates audiences, and he impressively showcases his singing and dancing abilities. The cameras adore him, and he looks fantastic from every angle. He possesses a toughness that rivals John Wayne and a charisma that surpasses Marlon Brando. Trump has effectively proven that he is exceptional at “doing stuff” on camera, and that deserves recognition.
Trump’s critics, especially those within the art community, may possess keen insight and foresight, yet they often overlook key details. It’s important to recognize that their evaluation of films operates on a different level than that of the average viewer. My intention is to confront misleading arguments with clarity and logic. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that a hypothetical syllogism is a potentially valid argument, rather than a mere fallacy.
Opening Scene:
In this film, Trump delivers a captivating performance as a troubled and conflicted President. He truly deserves an Oscar for tackling such a demanding role. The opening scene thrusts us into the heart of the Ukraine-Russia War, skillfully establishing the tension and intrigue that our President-Hero will strive to navigate and ultimately escape.

Next Scene:
Imagine a captivating 7-minute unbroken shot showcasing a vibrant tapestry of characters, each delivering powerful improvised verbal and non-verbal monologues at the southern border. The camera gracefully glides from one person to another, seamlessly transitioning from pitch to pitch, creating an immersive experience that draws the viewer in and evokes profound emotion.

The glimpse into the Harvard University Campus is the perfect tone-setter for the mundane Higher Education resistance movement. Sometimes, simple resistance can be the best approach. For a film that addresses anti-democratic sentiments, it makes sense to spend some time focusing on the resistance beforehand.

Omitted from the final cut, the film’s grand finale highlights a powerful dialogue among the President’s inner circle as they address a bustling street filled with people.

Why is the world so messed up?
Many individuals claim one thing yet behave differently.
People say one thing and then do another–life is determined by what you do, not by what you say you will do.
To foster a more effective society, it is imperative that we align our commitments with our behaviors.

Bipartisanship under fire: The Kennedy Center’s shift towards partisan programming
In Washington, D.C., arts organizations have long prided themselves on maintaining a non-partisan stance, understanding that offending potential benefactors over fleeting political issues can jeopardize crucial funding. The Kennedy Center’s board of trustees has embodied this tradition, often comprised of members appointed equally by both parties, regardless of their political affiliations.
This bipartisan approach has allowed board members to focus on a shared mission: safeguarding a vibrant space for the performing arts, rather than getting mired in partisan conflicts. However, President Trump has recently shifted this paradigm by taking control of the Kennedy Center, aiming to eliminate performances he deems “woke,” with a particular focus on drag shows. By seeking to tailor the center’s offerings to resonate with what he perceives as “half of the country,” Trump has dismissed prior leadership for not aligning with his vision of a “Golden Age” in the arts. His choice of Richard Grenell as overseer of daily operations suggests a new direction focused on excluding performances deemed “anti-American.”
This takeover is not merely a leadership change; it poses a significant risk to the integrity and diversity of the Kennedy Center’s programming. The outcry from the performing arts community is palpable, as critics warn that politicizing the center will not only diminish artistic vulnerability but also alienate diverse voices. With concerns about reduced fundraising and increased layoffs—evidenced by recent employee layoffs and cancellations—it’s clear that Trump’s approach could undermine the very essence of what the Kennedy Center stands for.
We must ask ourselves: Should the Kennedy Center prioritize an inclusive, nonpartisan mission that celebrates the richness of artistic expression, or should it narrow its focus to appeal only to a segment of the population? The answer seems clear: let’s uphold the values of diversity and inclusion that can truly elevate the arts for everyone.

Happy Birthday to the Duke of Wellington, the Iron Duke who triumphed over Napoleon! (May 1, 1769)
The Duke of Wellington was a prominent British Army general and a central figure in the Napoleonic Wars. He commanded the Anglo-Allied forces to victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, thereby defeating Napoleon’s army, concluding the Napoleonic era, and solidifying his reputation as one of the most distinguished military leaders in history.
Colonel Arthur Wellesley, later known as the Duke of Wellington (1769-1852), first encountered the rigors of battle during the initial phases of the French Revolutionary Wars (1793-1802). It was during this time that he acquired essential skills in leadership, organization, and military tactics. Following his brother Richard’s appointment as Governor-General, Wellesley was dispatched to India, where he served as chief advisor to the Nizam of Hyderabad’s army, leading the 33rd Regiment in significant engagements at Malavelly and Seringapatam in 1799.
Wellington dedicated nearly half of his military career to fighting against the French, achieving several notable victories. Throughout this period, Napoleon criticized Wellington’s capabilities, derogatorily labeling him the ‘sepoy general’—an allusion to his service in India. Nonetheless, the Duke cultivated numerous strategic insights during his time in India, including the significance of discipline, diplomatic relations with allies, intelligence gathering, military maneuvering, securing supply lines, and utilizing naval support. He attained the rank of major-general in 1802 amidst the Second Maratha War (1803-1805).
Wellington employed a multifaceted strategy to defeat Napoleon’s army. He adeptly positioned his forces along a ridge at Mount St. Jean, which mitigated the impact of Napoleon’s initial artillery bombardment. This defensive posture, refined during the Peninsular War, allowed him to withstand sustained French assaults effectively. Furthermore, the timely arrival of General Blücher’s Prussian army was pivotal. The combined Prussian and allied forces executed a critical counterattack, resulting in the disarray of the French troops. It is also worth noting Napoleon’s strategic miscalculations, particularly his decision to engage Wellington’s main force with cavalry rather than supporting infantry assaults.
Wellington’s principal strategy was to adopt a defensive stance behind the ridge, leveraging the terrain to his advantage. He relied on a disciplined infantry and effective artillery while emphasizing a fortified defense. Key fortifications, such as Hougoumont and La Haye Sainte, were utilized to gain crucial time for Prussian reinforcements to arrive and alter the course of the battle.
In 1806, the Duke of Wellington returned to the United Kingdom and pivoted to a political career as a Tory member of Parliament for Rye. Within this context, he established a connection with Napoleon’s sister, Pauline Borghese, while negotiating the acquisition of her residence, the Palatial Hotel de Charost, for use as the British Embassy. The Palatial Hotel de Charost continues to serve this purpose to the present day. (Source: Britannica/National Army Museum, UK)

How did Napoleon lose the Battle of Waterloo?
Napoleon’s defeat at the Battle of Waterloo was not a mere fluke; it resulted from several critical miscalculations and strategic errors.
The unfolding events did not align with Napoleon’s expectations. A severe storm erupted during the night, causing a significant delay until 11 a.m. the following day for the rain-drenched terrain to dry sufficiently. This delay hindered the French army’s ability to position and effectively utilize their artillery. Compounding the situation, Napoleon suffered from an illness—either hemorrhoids or dysuria, the specifics of which remain unclear—impacting his lucidity at a crucial juncture against Wellington, known for his expertise in defensive strategies.
Napoleon’s strategic objective was to exploit what he perceived to be Wellington’s vulnerable left flank while simultaneously pinning down the latter’s strongest right flank. The intention was to maneuver Wellington’s forces away to the northwest, thus diverting them from the approaching Prussian troops. However, Wellington’s meticulously crafted defenses, in conjunction with the French artillery’s inefficacy and mistakes made by French corps commanders, rendered Napoleon’s plan unfeasible.
The confrontation devolved into a full-frontal engagement over a mere five-kilometer expanse, where battlefield congestion inhibited any tactical maneuvers that could have altered the course of combat. Why should I invest in the vision if you can’t even sell it to yourselves?
Dear Donald and Elon, I apologize for the delayed outreach; adequate time was needed to reflect on the ongoing conflict between you.
It is troubling to witness a conflicted President and a prominent businessman—who, as noted by The New York Times, faces challenges with addiction—engaging in public disputes that present questionable visions for our future. But, in about 200 weeks or so, both figures will step into the annals of history: Trump will conclude his Presidency, and we genuinely hope Mr. Musk will take the necessary steps to prioritize his health through rehabilitation. Musk exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit and a vision for transforming technology, especially in electric vehicles, space exploration, and renewable energy. It is worth considering that had he approached the situation with a more level-headed and balanced perspective, he might have chosen to endorse a candidate that unites rather than divides.
It is disconcerting that mainstream media and the public seem fixated on the significant mental health struggles that both of them (visibly) face. Both individuals seem driven by an anti-public servant mentality, having unfortunately exploited government resources for personal gain—Musk through potential lucrative contracts and Trump through questionable business dealings, which include dubious cryptocurrency transactions. Are they compromising the nation’s welfare and undermining the foundations of our democracy? It can be asserted, quite bluntly, that they are plundering the country and hijacking our democracy. Now, they are engaged in a fierce battle for power and profit.
Had President Trump embraced diplomacy and Mr. Musk articulated their shared vision more transparently, countless Americans could have recognized the potential for positive change. Unfortunately, their hasty actions suggest they might be swayed by financial gain or perhaps a troubling mix of money and substances. This is not the example we want to set for our society, especially when they appear unable to authentically stand behind their own message.
This serves as an essential reminder for those ready to listen: We are different from them. We do not shout in anger; we advocate for diplomacy. We do not harbor hatred for our opponents. It is essential to set compassionate boundaries for both of them, especially given the adverse effects they have had on countless American families (e.g., significant layoffs). Our guiding principle is mind over matter—responding to negativity with goodness is not weakness but a testament to our moral strength.
In the tumultuous political landscape that both of them have contributed to, I urge Americans to tap into their better instincts and vote wisely in the Midterms of 2026. We must also stand firmly against all forms of vandalism directed at Mr. Musk’s and Mr. Trump’s enterprises. Vandalism cannot be misconstrued as protest; it represents a decline in our shared civility. There are honorable, peaceful means to express dissent, including organized assemblies and meaningful boycotts.
Though the path ahead may be fraught with challenges, let us remain optimistic. Our American institutions have shown remarkable resilience. This administration, marked by its polarizing vision and troubling personal conduct, feels like a powerful storm sweeping through our nation. Yet, just as all storms eventually pass, so too will this ‘dark cloud’ in our history.

Are there notable advantages to having both a monarchy and a parliament?
While the United States firmly stands as a republic and will never embrace a monarchy, many successful democratic nations flourish under a constitutional monarchy. In this system, the monarch serves as a ceremonial figurehead, while the real power to govern rests with an elected parliament and a prime minister. This unique arrangement offers remarkable benefits that can enhance a nation’s democratic experience.

Tariff threats, fiscal reforms, mass deportations, and territorial expansion are all occurring simultaneously. President Trump’s second term is characterized by heightened tensions and relentless challenges
We are committed to supporting those who pursue the truth and wish to engage in meaningful discussions. It is important to establish a norm of referring to individuals as “opponents” rather than “enemies.” The recent statements made by President Trump, as noted below, not only perpetuate falsehoods but also seek to distort reality and discredit his opponents. And yet, we maintain a strong belief in the potential for redemption; individuals are capable of transformation, personal growth, and deserve the opportunity to make amends.

REMARKS BY PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP (Truth Social, February 19, 2025)
Consider this: ‘Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a moderately successful comedian.’ (Truth Social, President Trump, 2/19/2025). This remark stands as a mere opinion, lacking factual basis, especially since President Trump himself is neither an artist, an art critic, nor a comedian. Even if one were to view Zelenskyy as an average comedian, what relevance does that hold for his capabilities as a politician? Such a statement is not only incongruous but also reflects a malicious intent.
On February 19, 2025, President Trump boldly claimed on Truth Social that Zelenskyy managed to convince the United States to commit $350 billion to a conflict he deemed unwinnable and completely unnecessary. He asserted that without the support of the U.S. and his own intervention, Zelenskyy would be incapable of resolving this crisis. This assertion, however, is not only misleading but also rooted in personal opinion and devoid of the evidence needed to substantiate such strong claims.

Beyond Politics: An Easter Message for Greeks and Trojans
In a well-known passage from Luke 18:9-14, Yeshua condemns a Pharisee for praying that he is righteous and superior to others, while he praises the tax collector who humbly acknowledges his sins and asks for mercy. As a Christian Democrat, I want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of Easter in Christianity. According to the PRRI American Values Survey, 42% of Democratic voters identified as Protestant, and 23% identified as Catholic.
For Christians, Easter commemorates the resurrection of Yeshua, the Messiah, which is a central tenet of the faith. It signifies his triumph over death and offers believers hope for eternal life. Easter is a joyous celebration that marks the end of Lent, a period of reflection and preparation, and symbolizes the promise of redemption through Yeshua’s sacrifice.
Did Yeshua die for Biden or just for Trump? The good news is that he died and rose again for everyone—believers and nonbelievers, Democrats and Republicans, atheists, Jews, and Palestinians, as well as ‘Martha’s and Mary’s’. He died for Stephen, the first Christian martyr, who was persecuted and killed, but He also died for the Apostle Paul when he was still Saul, a zealous persecutor of early Christians. Paul later came to regret his actions against the church.
Christians hold differing views on Yeshua concerning several key aspects, including his nature (whether he is fully God, fully human, or both), his role in the Trinity, and his teachings on salvation and the Kingdom of God. These differences often stem from varying interpretations of the Bible and theological traditions. For example, Moses stated that homosexual relations are prohibited and considered an abomination (Leviticus 18:22-20:13). In fact, he also prescribed that individuals should be stoned for such actions, as well as for certain types of women deemed impure. Literalists—those who interpret the Bible in a strict, literal sense—might argue that contemporary society should similarly punish those who engage in ‘nontraditional’ sexual orientations and ‘impure lifestyles’ (for details, see also 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and 1 Timothy 1:9-10).
However, in the biblical account of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11), Yeshua did not advocate for stoning her. Instead, he responded to those eager to cast stones by saying, “Let the one who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” This prompted everyone who had sinned to leave, ultimately leaving Yeshua and the woman alone. He then told her, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”
Yeshua did not abolish the Law of Moses but fulfilled it, meaning he brought it to its complete expression or intended goal. While some aspects of the Mosaic Law, such as ceremonial practices and rituals, were fulfilled through Christ’s sacrifice, the moral principles remain relevant. Yeshua emphasized the importance of fulfilling the law through love, both for God and for one’s neighbor. One could argue that an individual’s sexual orientation is ultimately God’s concern, not ours. For the record, the State should not intrude into anyone’s bedroom. I advocate for the principle of individual privacy and autonomy regarding personal conduct, particularly when it comes to sexual activity. Additionally, I support the (Christian) belief that it’s preferable for couples to establish families together, whether those couples are heterosexual or homosexual.
It is likely that, in the future, many mainstream Christian churches will accept the marriages of non-heterosexual couples. After all, it is generally better for couples to settle into family life than to remain apart. Thus, it can be argued that Yeshua’s admonition “go and sin no more” pertains to actions such as cheating, lying, and stealing, rather than to one’s sexual orientation.
Was James Buchanan the first homosexual President? Regardless, it’s likely and hopeful that Gen Z will elect the first transgender/homosexual president. It’s important to “break the news” to “sectarian Christians”: God does not measure a person’s “worth” by their appearance but by their heart and deeds. Furthermore, God may bless someone with intelligence, beauty, or material wealth, even though their talents may not be used for good purposes.
As the scriptures say, one will eventually face God’s wrath or “final judgment” someday. Moses understood God’s wrath well. Or just look at the end of ‘Mad King Saul’, who sought personal gain and even consulted sorcerers and faced dire consequences. According to the scriptures, even after being forgiven, one must still face the repercussions of their wrong actions. “Go and sin no more” is a powerful admonition that calls for repentance and a commitment to change one’s behavior. It urges individuals to abandon unholy habits—such as cheating, lying, stealing, bullying, mocking, jealousy, anger, revenge, avarice, and pride—and to strive for a higher moral standard. Essentially, it means to stop engaging in wrongdoing and to choose a path of righteousness.
As a believer, I argue that Yeshua died for both Biden and Trump. However, it is up to them to “go and sin no more”—to abandon their unholy habits and live a life that aligns with a higher Christian moral standard. This is contingent, of course, on their belief that Yeshua has risen and will return for the “final judgment.” The final judgment refers to a future event where all individuals will be judged by God based on their actions and faith, ultimately determining their eternal destiny. This judgment is often associated with the return of Yeshua, the Messiah, and the resurrection of the dead.
