The following interview with REVEREND CHRISTIE WEBB, Mount Olive Lutheran Church, and MAYOR PHIL BROCK, SANTA MONICA was conducted in September 2024 by Havah, Slingshot Talkshow Host. The homelessness crisis in Santa Monica (California) is at a record high, with a significant increase in the number of people experiencing homelessness, primarily driven by a severe shortage of affordable housing, rapidly rising rents, and limited access to support services. Rev. Webb points out that homeless individuals often have a significant need for spiritual guidance and Mayor Brock confirms that far too many Californians experience homelessness because they cannot afford housing.
