Farmers and politicians in Colonial America (e.g. Jefferson/Monroe) were slave owners, but some of them gradually attempted to advocate abolitionist measures.

OCTOBER 26, 1823
“America, North and South, has a set of interests distinct from those of Europe, and peculiarly her own. She should therefore have a system of her own, separate and apart from Europe. Its object is to introduce and to establish the American System, of keeping out of our land all foreign powers, of never permitting those of Europe to intermeddle with the affairs of our Nations. It is to maintain our own principle, not to depart from it. I could honestly therefore join in declaration proposed that we aim not the acquisition of any of those possessions, that we will not stand in the way of any amicable arrangement between them and the mother country, but that we will oppose with all our means, the forcible interposition of any other power, as auxiliary, stipendiary, or under any other form or pretext and most essentially their transfer to any power by conquest, cession, or acquisition in any other way. I add the assurance of my constant and affectionate friendship and respect.”
President Thomas Jefferson’s letter to President James Monroe
PRESIDENT JEFFERSON: THE FATHER OF AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY: Thomas Jefferson is widely considered the first North American archaeologist, as he conducted one of the first documented scientific excavations of a Native American burial mound in Virginia, which set a precedent for systematic archaeological practices in the United States; this is why he is often called the “Father of American Archaeology.”.

Is it ethical for Jake Tapper to leverage his CNN platform to promote his book, especially when doing so in a subtle or discreet way? This question deserves careful consideration
This situation raises concerns about a potential conflict of interest, as it may be seen as using his influence at CNN for personal gain. On the other hand, one could argue that this is a legitimate way to publicize his work and that CNN has the right to allow its employees to promote their books.
The book’s title is crafted to be eye-catching and possibly a bit dramatic, making it well-suited for attracting attention from media outlets such as the New York Post. The New York Post, FOX News, and The National Enquirer are frequently linked to “yellow journalism” because of their sensationalist style and emphasis on dramatic stories. “Yellow journalism” is defined by exaggerated news reporting that prioritizes sensationalism over rigorous investigative research.

“ORIGINAL SIN: PRESIDENT BIDEN’S DECLINE, ITS COVER-UP, AND HIS DISASTROUS CHOICE TO RUN AGAIN”: This book offers a striking insight into the state of President Biden’s health during his time in office. Audio recordings from Biden’s October 2023 interviews with special counsel Robert Hur, obtained by Axios, highlight instances, such as his difficulty recalling the year his son passed away and when Donald Trump was elected.
THE AUTHORS: Co-authored by Alex Thompson, a Harvard graduate with a bachelor’s degree in ‘History’ and a minor in ‘Government’, this book offers a comprehensive analysis of President Biden’s leadership challenges. Jake Tapper, CNN’s anchor and chief Washington correspondent, adds his respected background to the narrative. Tapper graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, modified by Visual Studies, and he received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Dartmouth in 2017. However, it’s important to approach this book with skepticism and a critical mindset, especially since it is authored by individuals who do not hold health professional credentials or have experience with health issues. While the book may provide intriguing insights and perspectives, the lack of medical expertise requires careful consideration when assessing its reliability and relevance to real-world health situations.
OPINION: It is truly concerning that Jake Tapper is leveraging CNN’s powerful platform to promote a book that offers “nothing (really) new.” The public has long been aware of President Biden’s health decline due to his advanced age. With this in mind, I encourage you to reflect on whether there was a deliberate attempt to hide the truth or if the staff was earnestly trying to manage a situation that was evident to nearly everyone. Your perspective is crucial for understanding the far-reaching implications of this issue. Moreover, could it be that Jake Tapper has become too attached to his research hypothesis? In the realm of scientific inquiry, it is crucial to remain objective and not overly invested in a single hypothesis or the need to prove it “correct.” The main objective should be to explore and comprehend the issue at stake, even if that requires challenging or adjusting the initial hypothesis based on the evidence gathered. Adopting this perspective fosters a more accurate and holistic understanding of our reality.
Less news (Less noise). More Context.
This brings us to the fundamental point: the classic principle taught in journalism—”When a dog bites a man, it’s just an everyday occurrence, but when a man bites a dog, that’s a story worth telling.” This highlights the need to focus on the extraordinary to capture attention and drive narratives. For example, Trump’s mental state poses a “clear and present danger.” (Dr. Bandy Lee and 27 other psychiatrists).
It is essential to confront the reality that President Trump exhibits mental health challenges, a fact underscored by his attendance at military school due to his father’s inability to control his behavior. This background is not just a footnote; it demands scrutiny of his leadership and decision-making abilities. We must ask ourselves what impact this history has on his capacity to lead effectively.
“THE DANGEROUS CASE OF DONALD TRUMP”: This book features essays from 27 mental health professionals who articulate pressing concerns about Donald Trump’s mental health and the potential risks it poses to our nation. These experts boldly declare that Trump’s mental state constitutes a “clear and present danger.” Led by forensic psychiatrist Bandy X. Lee, the contributing psychiatrists conduct a thorough analysis of Trump’s behavior and public statements, drawing attention to alarming aspects of his mental health that demand our serious consideration.
THE AUTHORS: Bandy X. Lee, the author and editor of “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” brings exceptional qualifications in medicine and mental health to the forefront. With an M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine, obtained in 1994, along with a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Yale Divinity School, her expertise is both profound and credible. Lee’s impressive credentials are further strengthened by her medical internship at Bellevue Hospital in New York, her role as chief resident during her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and her research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, making her a highly respected figure in her field.

What led to the passing of Dr. Bornstein, the physician for Trump? It’s important to understand the circumstances surrounding his death
In memoriam, 1947-2021, Dr. Harold Bornstein
WHAT HAPPENED: (2017) Harold Bornstein, who served as Donald Trump’s personal physician, passed away on January 8, 2021, at the age of 73. The specific cause and location of his death have not been publicly disclosed, leaving some uncertainties regarding the circumstances surrounding his passing. Bornstein was known for his favorable assessments of Donald Trump’s health. He had previously settled a malpractice lawsuit, paying tens of thousands of dollars, after being accused of causing the death of one of his patients.

In response to the raid on his office by President Trump’s team, Dr. Bornstein stated that he felt violated, fearful, and deeply saddened (2017)
Donald Trump’s former doctor revealed that he did not compose the 2015 letter proclaiming the then-Republican presidential candidate’s health as “astonishingly excellent.” Instead, Dr. Bornstein claimed that Trump personally dictated the letter’s contents, raising questions about its authenticity and the influence of the candidate in crafting his public image.

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, should seriously consider accepting President Trump’s offer to help address the cartel crisis
WHAT HAPPENED: The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, should thoughtfully reconsider President Trump’s offer to combat the cartel crisis, as it could be a pivotal step forward. In Culiacán, northern Mexico, an animal sanctuary faces the heartbreaking necessity of relocating its 700 animals due to escalating violence from ongoing criminal warfare. This distressing situation not only jeopardizes the lives of these vulnerable animals but also emphasizes the urgent need for united action to restore peace amid the fierce battles between rival cartel factions. Now is the time to act decisively and collaboratively for the safety of all.

WHAT HAPPENED: The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’ is a legislative proposal recently introduced in the House of Representatives, garnering attention for its extensive focus on tax cuts and government spending. This comprehensive package seeks to tackle a variety of pressing issues, including tax policy reform, bolstering border security, and enhancing the education system. The proposal outlines provisions for increased defense spending to ensure national security and includes robust measures aimed at strengthening border security protocols. Overall, the act represents a multifaceted approach to addressing key challenges facing the country.
⦁ How could tax cuts influence consumer spending and overall economic growth in the country?
⦁ In what ways might tax cuts affect government funding for essential public services?
⦁ How might tax cuts for the wealthy impact income inequality and social mobility?

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/05/what-they-are-saying-pass-the-one-big-beautiful-bill (Link)
Tax Changes: ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill Act’ permanently retains several provisions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, including individual tax rates and standard deductions. Additionally, it raises the cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction, increases the estate tax exemption, and modifies business tax deductions, including the small business tax deduction.
Significant Cuts to Clean Energy Initiatives: The proposed bill will greatly restrict or eliminate many of the clean energy incentives established by President Joe Biden as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. This includes clean energy tax credits, advanced manufacturing tax credits, Environmental Justice Block Grants, and the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
Significant Investment in Military Technologies: The bill proposes an increase of $150 billion in defense spending. This includes $24.7 billion allocated for the construction of the “Golden Dome” missile defense shield, a project proposed by President Trump. To support this initiative, the bill also provides $18.8 billion for advanced missile defense technologies.

WHAT HAPPENED: The “Golden Dome” (2025) represents a crucial advancement in the U.S. missile defense strategy. This innovative system is designed to include a network of satellites armed with advanced sensors and interceptors, capable of detecting and neutralizing incoming missiles just after launch. Its primary aim is to provide robust protection for the U.S. against potential threats from adversarial nations, including China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. The phased deployment of this system will begin in areas with the highest risks, ensuring that we prioritize the safety and security of our nation and its allies.

WHAT HAPPENED: President Trump’s visit to the Middle East highlights the complex relationship between the U.S. and Qatar. This relationship goes beyond mere diplomacy; it holds considerable significance. U.S. officials and commentators have expressed concerns about certain aspects of Qatar’s actions, including its support for Hamas leaders (e.g., 2017) and its close ties with Iran. Addressing these issues is essential for fully understanding Qatar’s role in the region and the implications it has for U.S. interests.

“A Return to Normalcy” was a slogan used by Warren G. Harding during his 1920 presidential campaign. There is a persistent rumor that Florence Harding poisoned her husband, President Warren G. WHAT HAPPENED: On January 6, 2021, President Trump stated, “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol to confront this egregious assault on our Democracy. And I’ll be there with you.” During this event, the crowd chanted, “Hang Mike Pence.” On that day, Vice President Mike Pence was evacuated to a secure location.
PENCE’S POV: “January 6, 2021, was a tragic day. I believe history will remember it as a triumph of freedom. Thanks to the courageous service of law enforcement, the Capitol was secured. Members of Congress from both chambers and both political parties reconvened that very same day to continue our work under the Constitution of the United States. We were able to witness the peaceful transfer of power as the world watched following the riot that took place. I remember jotting down some thoughts: The world would witness again the resilience of our Democracy.”
THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL: As the saying goes, “Don’t ever go back to the situation you prayed to get out of.” President Trump is back–meaner and even more self-serving than before. Have you taken the time to reflect on President Trump’s subliminal messages or are you simply ignoring them? Regardless, the Midterm elections in 2026 are just around the corner–It may be time to curb his enthusiasm.

May 2025 U.S. MEXICO
“(Mexico) Sovereignty is not for sale. Sovereignty is loved and defended.” (President Sheinbaum) “She’s not thinking straight” (President Trump)
WHAT HAPPENED: President Trump offered military assistance to Mexico to help combat the cartels. Mexican cartels are highly organized criminal organizations, particularly known for their involvement in drug trafficking. They typically operate with a hierarchical structure, featuring strong leadership and a network of enforcers. Several major cartels dominate the Mexican drug trade, including the Sinaloa Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and the Gulf Cartel. These cartels engage in turf wars to control territories and often corrupt local and state authorities through bribery and intimidation.
TRUMP’S POV: On Air Force One, President Trump remarked, “She’s a lovely woman (Mexico’s President), but she’s so afraid of the cartels that she cannot think straight.” The current administration is operating under a highly strategic leadership–the ‘Hostile Takeover Regime.’ This approach focuses on clearly defined objectives in both domestic and foreign affairs, with an emphasis on the implementation and monitoring of ‘Project 2025,’ a 900-page ultra-conservative framework published by The Heritage Foundation. According to CNN, over 140 individuals who previously worked for the Trump Administration are involved in shaping this political initiative. As President Trump stated in a recent interview, “Never say never”—highlighting a lack of principles, an embrace of fear and uncertainty, and a departure from peace of mind and a clear conscience.
SHEINBAUM’S POV: President Sheinbaum insists on living a “principled life,” even if it means facing criticism from Trump. She stated, “Mexico’s sovereignty is not for sale. We will never accept the presence of the United States military in our territory.” On Air Force One, President Trump remarked, “She’s a lovely woman, but she’s so afraid of the cartels that she cannot think straight.” It’s true that she is lovely and likely apprehensive about the cartels. However, it’s also accurate that President Trump never claimed that “members of his Cabinet aren’t thinking straight.” Mexico has the right to maintain control over its own affairs. If this offer had come from any other U.S. President, it’s likely that President Sheinbaum would have accepted it. However, (probably) because President Trump is unreasonably disrespectful and excessively divisive, she chose to walk away from what could have been an advantageous deal. Her message is clear: in this situation, she believes it is better to engage with the cartels than to deal with him (and them). Who could blame her for contemplating the unthinkable?
LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL: With the emergence of new leadership in the U.S., the world is confronting significant challenges, including economic hardships and political instability. However, they are responding to these by promoting unprecedented international cooperation, despite the backdrop of U.S. political isolationism and policy volatility. Emerging powers like China, India, and countries in Eastern Europe are actively challenging the (new) established order. China’s influence in Central and South America is growing rapidly, while Western European nations are increasingly focused on building connections among themselves as more reliable partners. While each of us is a unique talent, it is crucial to recognize that the U.S. is not irreplaceable. In this particular election, Americans missed an opportunity to reflect this reality. No pun intended; it’s simply a fact of life.

WHAT HAPPENED: Canada depends on the U.S. market for about 75% of its exports. This significant reliance is a crucial factor in discussions surrounding trade agreements and their potential economic impacts.
TRUMP’S POV: President Trump continued to emphasize emphatically, ‘never say never’. The current administration is operating under a highly strategic leadership–the ‘Hostile Takeover Regime.’ This approach focuses on clearly defined objectives in both domestic and foreign affairs, with an emphasis on the implementation and monitoring of ‘Project 2025,’ a 900-page ultra-conservative framework published by The Heritage Foundation. According to CNN, over 140 individuals who previously worked for the Trump Administration are involved in shaping this political initiative. “Never say never”—highlighting a lack of principles, an embrace of fear and uncertainty, and a departure from peace of mind and a clear conscience.
CARNEY’S POV: Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, emphasized that “Canada is not for sale.” President Trump remarked, “It’s hard to justify subsidizing Canada to the tune of maybe $200 billion a year,” implying that the U.S. is essentially giving Canada money. This claim is inaccurate; in reality, as trade partners, there are years when the U.S. exports more to Canada and other years when it imports more. Typically, President Trump fails to clarify these details and often confuses or misrepresents the facts. He seems to mistakenly equate a “trade deficit” with “subsidizing.” For instance, the U.S. trade deficit with Canada in 2024 was reported to be $63.3 billion, according to the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office. Furthermore, Kush Desai, Deputy Press Secretary at The White House, stated, “Canadian companies won’t have to worry at all about tariffs when Canada becomes our cherished 51st State.”
