Make no mistake: in politics, as in life, ‘Whoever does not gather, scatters.’ At some point, there is no middle ground—only friend or foe
With midterms upon us, the question arises: Do Christians shy away from political discourse? The answer is unequivocal–absolutely not. Christians are deeply engaged in the political process, representing a wide ideological spectrum from Republican to Independent to Democrat. In casting your vote, it is crucial to let your conscience–and not partisanship–be your guide. Yet, it must be acknowledged that neither President Trump nor President Biden genuinely reflects the core tenets of Christian values. The key takeaway: Be fully aware of the implications of your choice. Approach your vote with discernment, hold fast to your principles, and recognize the enduring impact of your voice.

Midterms 2026 | Economic Prospects
Is Your Bank Account Feeling the Squeeze? What Should We Expect from Our Next Lawmaker?
On the same token, James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, disclosed in his personal financial filings a single Wells Fargo checking account, shared with his mother, Tamara Talarico, with a balance between $15,000 and $50,000. Yes, U.S. candidates must declare certain financial interests and sources of income. But public disclosure is not an invitation to rummage through private bank statements. Neither private individuals nor members of Congress have the authority to investigate a private citizen’s bank account. Personal financial records are protected by federal law. No lawmaker can unilaterally demand or review private banking information. If a lawmaker unlawfully accesses a private citizen’s bank account, they are subject to severe criminal prosecutions, hefty fines, prison time, and political expulsion.

Before you cast your ballot in the 2026 midterms, turn down the campaign noise and answer one straightforward question: How much money is in your bank account right now? Are you employed? Can you pay your bills? Are you building a future, or just financing another month of survival? For those seeking your vote for the House and Senate, the direction of our economy should be the top issue. Campaign slogans cannot buy groceries. A polished speech cannot pay the rent. And a politician’s self-congratulation is not a deposit in your checking account. This technocratic administration wants credit for progress. Fine. But are its policies making us healthier, happier, and more prosperous, or merely making those in charge more pleased with themselves? Demand results, not another lecture about how grateful you should be.
As Christians, we believe God owns all the riches of the world—the silver and the gold. Those riches do not make politicians our saviors. Nor does God’s sovereignty grant them exemption from accountability. Our faith calls us to pursue a future that is just for everyone, not merely comfortable for the well-connected. Your bank balance matters. So does your neighbor’s empty cupboard. Prosperity that leaves struggling families behind is a poor reflection of justice.
Choose your candidates wisely and carefully. Examine their records, their priorities, and whom their policies actually serve. A Bible in a campaign photo is not a character reference. God remains in control. We trust Him to provide. But trusting in God is no excuse for blind loyalty to politicians.
Pray with faith. Vote with discernment. And stop mistaking promises for provision.
